But what causes right testicle pain and lower abdomen pain? Let’s explore that.

Firstly, pain can occur in either of the testicles or both of them. But the intensity of the pain depends on the testicular condition you are having. For example, a sharp pain giving a feeling as if you are being pinched with a pin generally point towards testicular torsion. While a gradual pain radiating towards your abdomen can be due to a testicular injury, an infection or other serious conditions, like:

So, based on the intensity of the testicular pain, we can segregate the causes in the following manner:

1. Sharp pain in your testis/testes:

  • Testicular torsion: A medical emergency, it happens when your testicle twists, cutting off its blood supply. It results in a sharp pain which requires immediate medical attention.
  • Epididymitis: It is the inflammation of epididymis (a tube attached to the testicle) due to either bacterial or viral infection.
  • Testicular trauma: A sudden bolt to your testes can result in injury leading to sudden, sharp pain.
  • Testicular cancer: In rare cases, testicular cancer can lead to sudden, severe pain.

2. Gradual testicular pain moving towards the abdomen region:

  • Testicular varicocele: A condition where the testicular veins get enlarged, which can cause dull, aching pain radiating towards your abdomen area.
  • Intermittent testicular torsion: In some cases, testicular torison can also occur intermittently, causing gradual pain.
  • Hydrocele: The fluid accumulation in your scrotum can cause gradual swelling, discomfort and radiating pain.
  • Inguinal hernia: Protrusion of abdominal contents (such as intestine) into the inguinal canal, which can cause gradual testicular pain.
  • Epididymo-orchitis: Inflammation of both the epididymis and testicle, often due to a bacterial infection.

Right Testicle Pain And Lower Abdomen Pain: Does This Indicate Any Specific Problem?

No, pain specifically in right testicle doesn’t indicate any particular condition. You can feel the pain in either right or left testicle or both. As we say, disease doens’t discriminate when striking! In many cases, discomfort and swelling accompany the testicular pain.

Right Testicle Pain And Lower Abdomen Pain: How To Relieve Testicle Pain Instantly?

You may be able to ease your testicular pain at home. Some remedies may include:

  • Apply a cold compress or an ice pack to the area. Wrap the ice or cold pack in a towel and apply it intermittently throughout the day for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
  • Place a rolled-up towel under your scrotum while lying down on your back.
  • Take a warm bath.
  • Take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Not everyone can take NSAIDs, so it’s a good idea to talk to a provider first.

If home remedies don’t work, talk to a healthcare provider. They can prescribe medications that help reduce pain, including:

  • Antibiotics or anti-infective medications. These medications can treat a bacterial or viral infection.
  • Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). Some antidepressants — including amitriptyline — can treat nerve pain.

If the pain still persists, consult your healthcare practitioner at the earliest. Also, for sharp pains, you may require immediate medical attention. In such cases, surgery can be the best option to treat your condition and save your testicles from further damage.
