SilverCloud is working with the NHS across a 10-year partnership to deliver timely care at each level of mental health intervention.
The SilverCloud by Amwell 4-stage package now fully supports digital therapy delivery across step 1, 2 and 3 of the NHS Talking Therapies, helping more patients access the mental health support they need.
Over the five years to 2022, the NHS has seen an increase in mental health referrals of 44%. Sadly, the mental health workforce has not been able to keep pace – increasing by just 22% in the same period. This gap means that even if the 2023/24 goal of the NHS providing access to 1.9 million people to its Talking Therapies services is met it will only amount to just one-quarter of people with a diagnosable need.
With the demand for mental health treatment on the rise, digital solutions are quickly establishing themselves as a way to tackle waiting lists.
Patients in step 1 can access self-management tools from SilverCloud, while online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with support from practitioners is available through SilverCloud, for patients in step 2. SilverCloud’s support in step 3 includes complex condition support and therapy session enhancement tools.
The entirety of the SilverCloud services also now incorporates a digital referral pathway, self-management toolkit, mental health programmes and tools for therapy, which all help to seamlessly facilitate between face-to-face and digital therapy.
The varying levels of intervention in the SilverCloud programmes mean it can help treat mental health difficulties ranging from mild to complex. For those who are waiting for face-to-face therapy it offers suitable support in the interim.
SilverCloud has previously partnered with Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) on its National Digital Mental Health Programme.
