The Nigerian government has announced that Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla, who managed to escape custody in Nigeria, has been located in Kenya.
A source within the presidency, who chose to remain anonymous, verified this information as authorities from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service work to expedite Anjarwalla’s extradition.
In a previous statement, EFCC chairman Ola Olukuyede emphasized that the commission is cooperating with INTERPOL, as well as authorities from the US, UK, Northern Ireland, and Kenya to bring him, who has been evading capture, to justice.
Anjarwalla, along with Binance Holdings Limited and Tigran Gambaryan, faces five counts of charges relating to tax evasion, currency speculation, and money laundering.
Binance and the two executives were arraigned by the EFCC on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
It was on March 22 that Anjarwalla managed to escape custody and has been on the run ever since.
