Super Eagles forward player, Kelechi Ihenacho popularly known as Senior Man has left Leicester City as a free agent after the expiration of his contract.
Leicester City confirmed the exit of the Nigerian forward player on its official website on Friday, June 7, 2024. According to the club, Kelechi Iheanacho, Dennis Praet, and Marc Albrighton have left the club as free agents ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
Leicester City appreciated the efforts and dedication of all the players during their time at the club especially helping them to gain promotion back to the Premier League after they suffered relegation to the Championship during the 2022/23 football season.
Iheanacho joined Leicester City from Manchester City in August 2017, the popular forward has scored 61 goals for the Foxes, including the winner against his former club in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley in August 2021.
Marc Albrighton leaves the club as a legend having played 313 games in all competitions and saw him lift the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, FA Community Shield and Sky Bet Championship.
The winger, who also scored City’s first-ever UEFA Champions League goal against Club Brugge in September 2016, will leave behind a legacy as one of the most successful and popular players ever to play for the Football Club.
Dennis Praet also departs this summer, having moved to King Power Stadium from Sampdoria in August 2019 and made 107 appearances in total, scoring on five occasions.
However, the club are discussing with Wilfred Ndidi for a possible contract extension.
