Enugu Rangers have been crowned as Champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) for the eighth time following their 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance.

Rangers won the game with goals from Agu Kenechkuw and Chidebere Nwobodo in the 33rd and 60th minute respectively. The Flying Antelopes as they are popularly called achieved this feat on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Rangers were crowned Champions after Enyimba and Remo Stars lost their games against Sporting Lagos and Sunshine Stars respectively. The Flying Antelopes currently have 67 points going into the final game of the season with second-placed Remo Stars on 63 points.

This triumph automatically qualifies Enugu Rangers for the 2024/25 CAF Champions League season while the second spot will be contested among Remo Stars, Enyimba and Shooting Stars.

This is the first time Fidelis Ilechukwu would be getting the winner’s medal after he managed Moutain of Fire Ministries Football Club ( MFM) and Plateau United.
