The All Progressive Congress (APC) Governors have assured Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu’s determination to end hunger and insecurity.
Naija News reports that this was made known after a two-hour closed-door meeting of the APC Governors’ Forum.
The chairman of the Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma, who briefed newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, appealed to organisers of the protest to embrace roundtable dialogue.
Uzodinma said the administration of President Tinubu is determined to end the current economic challenges.
The meeting also discussed the need for improvement of the agriculture sector at the state level to tackle food security.
The APC Governors added they will take the brief to the larger body of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, where final deliberations will be made known to Tinubu.
Explain Why You Want To Protest
Meanwhile, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has expressed disappointment that the organizers of the nationwide protest have not yet made a public statement explaining their reasons for wanting to participate in street protests.
Naija News reports that Nigerians, particularly the youths, have proposed to engage in a nationwide protest against the ongoing economic hardships under the incumbent administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, Uzodinma said it was too early for such an event to happen under the current administration, urging the individuals involved to postpone their plans.
Uzodinma, who addressed reporters at the State House after introducing former Senate President Pius Anyim to President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, mentioned that the governors from the Southeast region are opposed to the demonstration due to concerns over potential disruptions.
