Rick Karsdorp has been officially excluded from Roma’s squad list for the upcoming Serie A season.

This decision comes following the initial decision by Daniele De Rossi to leave Karsdorp out of Roma’s preseason training camp.

The breaking point between Roma and the Dutchman occurred last season, when Karsdorp had a clash with the Curva Sud, responding with sarcastic applause upon his substitution against Bayer Leverkusen.

That episode, combined with the serious mistake that led to the defeat against the Germans, marked the end of his adventure in the Giallorossi.

Furthermore, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport, despite offers from AEK Athens and Besiktas, the defender rejected every proposal, further complicating the situation for Roma.

His high salary of 2.3 million euros per season makes it difficult to find a new destination, contributing to the final decision to exclude him from the squad list for Serie A.
