Former Napoli midfielder, Marek Hamsik, has expressed his feelings regarding Victor Osimhen's transfer to Galatasaray, suggesting that there may have been non-football related factors involved.

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen is back in training with Galatasaray after recovering from an injury.

The club announced the positive development on their Instagram account, stating that Victor Osimhen has been following a specialized training program.

“Victor Osimhen has worked separately from the team within the special programme prepared for him”, a statement from Galatasaray reads.

The 25-year-old forward sustained the injury during a Super Lig match against Kasımpaşa on September 28 but has now returned to training with the Turkish giants.

Recall that during the game, which ended in a 3-3 draw, the Nigeria international scored twice before he was substituted after signalling to the bench that he was experiencing discomfort.

After the game, a statement from Galatasaray read: “The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match, has been started.”

Based on pictures of Osimhen shared on the Instagram page of the club on Saturday, October 12, the footballer has started individual training.

Osimhen, who missed Galatasaray’s recent games, is expected to be fully available for the Turkish side after the FIFA international break.

Recall that due to the injury, Osimhen was not invited to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya. In his absence, the Super Eagles beat Libya 1-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. They will play the return leg away on Tuesday, October 15.
