Chelsea’s defender, Wesley Fofana has debunked the news that he will be out of action for the entity of the 2024/25 season following an injury he picked up in the game against Aston Villa in December 2024.

Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca had said that Wesley Fofana would be sidelined for a month but ahead of Saturday’s draw at Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park he confirmed that the defender will be out of the season.

What did Maresca say about Wesley Fofana injury?

The Italian who had initially downplayed the extent of Fofana’s injury broke the heart of most Chelsea supporters when he confirmed that the defender could be out for the rest of the season.

He said,

“We don’t know exactly. But having a test, we realised it was worst than what we thought at the beginning. It is hamstring, and unfortunately, we are going to lose him for a while.’

However, he reportedly debunked the news on his team group, which was released by L’Equippe where he confirmed that he should be out for a maximum of six weeks as compared to being ruled for the rest of this season.

He said,

I’m not out for the rest of the season, I don’t know why he [Maresca] said that. I will be back in 4-6 weeks.’

Chelsea supporters will hope that Fofana will be back from injury very soon. If the centre-back calculations is anything to go buy, the. he could make his return as early as February 14, 2025, when Chelsea travels to Brighton at the Amex Stadium.
