Corps members across the country are soon to receive a minimum wage of ₦77,000, as announced by Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

During a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday to unveil a staff bus donated by a private company, Ahmed confirmed that the increased allowance had been finalized.

He emphasized his dedication to ensuring the well-being and safety of corps members.

“By 2025, corps members will enjoy all the benefits they deserve. Their welfare and security remain my primary focus,” he stated.

Additionally, Ahmed warned corps members against traveling at night or using roadside transportation.

“This donation will greatly ease the commuting difficulties reported by our staff and corps members,” he added.

During visits to the Anambra State Orientation Camp in Mbaukwu and the Ebonyi State Orientation Camp in Afikpo, he urged corps members to act as ambassadors of positive change in their host communities.

He encouraged them to work with local residents to identify needs and implement projects that will enhance living conditions in the community.
