In a shocking incident that has unsettled the community in Asaba, Delta State, the lifeless body of a young woman named Miss Chinagozorm Lucy Eze has been discovered in her apartment, leading to widespread outrage and concern. Reports indicate that the young woman was attacked by assailants who allegedly raped, robbed, and ultimately murdered her. The grim event took place just two days ago, resulting in increased anxiety among local residents, who are now calling for swift action from law enforcement.

The Delta State Police have confirmed the occurrence of the murder, but investigations into the circumstances surrounding the assault remain ongoing. As of now, authorities have not announced any arrests, leaving many in the community feeling unsettled and fearful.

A police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, issued a statement acknowledging the murder but noted a lack of evidence supporting claims of rape, a remark that has raised eyebrows and prompted calls for a more thorough investigation.

In light of this tragedy, an advocacy group, the Initiative for Social Rights Concerns and Advancement (ISRCA), has expressed its demand for a comprehensive inquiry into the case. The organization, which has taken a firm stance on justice issues, emphasizes that such grave crimes must receive the attention they deserve, particularly in a prominent city like Asaba. The group’ s leaders are advocating for an immediate focus on interviewing individuals who knew the victim, including friends, family, and colleagues, to gather information that could lead to meaningful breakthroughs in the investigation.
