Big Brother Naija star Bamike Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, has shared an update after intervening in the case of a mother of three who allegedly attempted suicide at Megamound Estate, Lekki-Ajah, following her husband’s command to take her own life.
On Monday, BamBam revealed on Instagram that the Malawian woman climbed a GP tank with a rope, intending to hang herself.
The woman, who reportedly endured her husband’s infidelity and emotional abuse, said the man instructed her to kill herself.
In an emotional plea, BamBam asked for recommendations for a rehabilitation center or suicide watch services.
“This woman almost took her life… her husband, two brothers, and side chic are inside the house with her three children. One of them is still breastfeeding! People are evil! How have we lost our humanity?” she wrote.
By early Tuesday, BamBam updated her followers on Instagram, stating that human rights activist Adetoun Onajobi and Lagos State authorities had taken over the case.
“The woman and her three sons are safe. God bless everyone who called and reached out. Thank you @omonioboli and the team who prioritized this case at the expense of production,” she wrote.
BamBam highlighted the dangers of prolonged domestic violence and urged victims not to give up.
“Prolonged exposure to domestic violence, both physical and emotional, can lead to mental breakdowns. Speak up and look out for women around you,” she said.
She ended on a positive note, thanking those who helped and reminding victims that hope and humanity still exist.
