The Premier League announced seven players who were impressive for their clubs for the best player award for January 2025.

The list of players was announced on the official website of the Premier League on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Bournemouth’s fantastic form in the league earned them two spots in the top seven players with Dean Huijsen and Justin Kluivert representing the Cherries.

Huijsen was a rock at the heart of Bournemouth’s defence, helping them to wins over Everton, Newcastle United, and Nottingham Forest, and a draw at Chelsea, which saw them go unbeaten in January. On the other hand, Kluivert was involved in seven goals as he helped Bournemouth maintain their pursuit for European football next season.

Last month’s winner, Alexander Isak, was also nominated for the award as he continued his excellent form with five goals and one assist. He scored the winner in a 2-1 success at Tottenham Hotspur, following up with two goals against Wolves against whom he also produced an assist for Anthony Gordon and a brace at Southampton.

Manchester City’s Phil Foden ended the month of January as the Premier League’s top scorer scoring six goals in four appearances, while his seven combined goals and assists are the joint-most of any player. Other players on the list include, Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace and Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford.

The winner of the best player award will be announced on Friday, February 7, 2025 after the votes by the fans and panel of experts have been combined.
