Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior has teamed up with a group of Spanish and Brazilian investors to become a co-owner of Portuguese club FC Alverca, similar to Kylian Mbappe’s ownership of Stade Malherbe Caen in France.

Former owner Ricardo Vicintin has sold his controlling share to the consortium led by Vinicius, although specific financial details remain unknown.

Alverca, currently ranking second in Liga Portugal 2, is aiming for promotion to the Primeira Liga.

The club, founded in 1939, has had a tumultuous past, including financial difficulties in 2005 that hindered its progress.

His investment marks a new chapter for the historic club.
