Veteran actor Segun Arinze has voiced his frustration over the inefficiency and lack of transparency in Nigeria’s aviation sector, urging the government to take immediate action.

Taking to Instagram, Arinze recounted his recent ordeal while traveling from Lagos to Benin with Green Africa, only to be informed that the airline would not operate return flights for three days due to maintenance.

Forced to book with Arik Air, he was blindsided upon arrival at Benin Airport when passengers were told the flight would make an unscheduled stop in Port Harcourt before heading to Lagos—a detail not disclosed during booking.

Fuming over the situation, he wrote:
“What kind of madness is that? Nigerian airlines need to stop taking passengers for granted. They are taking the piss!!!”

Arinze called on Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, to intervene, demanding better regulation and accountability in the sector.
