US sues Apple in anti-trust case

“Consumers should not have to pay higher prices because companies violate the antitrust laws,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement.

This has been in the works for years and was leaked earlier so the stock market reaction has been modest. The idea is that Apple is exerting monopolistic practices in the App Store. The company often takes a 30% commission on purchases even within apps.
