CKay with his viral hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’ has broken the record tie with Wizkid and Rema in the US.
In a recent announcement, it has been revealed that Nigerian artist CKay’s hit track ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ has officially become the highest-certified African song in RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) history. The track has received a staggering 8x Platinum certification, solidifying its place as one of the most successful songs to come out of Africa in recent years.
The certification puts ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ ahead of two other notable tracks that held the previous record for the highest-certified African song in RIAA history: WizKid’s ‘Essence’ and Rema’s ‘Calm Down.’
Since its release in 2020, ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ aside from amassing millions of streams on various music platforms has continued to break numerous records four years after its release.
To achieve an 8x Platinum certification, ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ has sold over eight million units or been streamed over 1.2 billion times.
