Watch: Horrendous error from Roma defender sees Bayer Leverkusen take the lead

Bayer Leverkusen have taken the lead against Roma in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie.

It was an absolutely horrific error from Roma’s right-back Rick Karsdorp who’s pass backwards to either his centre-back or his goalkeeper was far too short, giving Alex Grimaldo the opportunity to pounce and set up Bayer Leverkusen’s talisman Florian Wirtz.

The youngster didn’t have much to do after the opportunity was handed on a plate by the Dutch full-back who will not want to see that moment back again.

If that is the goal that sees the Bundesliga champions through to the final then he will be kicking himself for a long while.
