On Thursday, Manchester United officially announced the appointment of Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy as assistant managers for the men’s first team.

They will be working alongside head coach Erik Ten Hag until June 2026.

Ten Hag expressed his excitement about the new appointments, noting that both Hake and Van Nistelrooy bring valuable experience, knowledge, and fresh energy to the coaching staff.

“I am delighted that Rene and Ruud have agreed to join our project, adding a wealth of experience, knowledge and new energy to the staff,” Ten Hag said as quoted by Man United’s website.

“Now is a good time to refresh the coaching team as we look to build on the achievements of the past two years and push to the next level.”
