Web3 security firm Cyvers detected the incident on July 12 and confirmed Aave’s pools were secure. The attacker used the ZK protocol Railgun to fund the attack, swapping stolen USDC for ETH. This highlights the vulnerabilities in DeFi and the need for robust security measures to protect digital assets.
