Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, has made history by becoming the player with the most trophies in football history.

In the final of the 2024 Copa America, Messi played for 60 minutes as his country defeated Colombia 1-0, earning him his 45th piece of silverware in his career.

This achievement surpasses the previous record held by his former Barcelona teammate Dani Alves, who had 44 trophies.

Throughout his career, Messi won 35 club titles at Barcelona and six trophies with Argentina, including the Copa America titles in 2021 and 2024.

In addition to these accomplishments, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner also achieved Olympic gold at Beijing 2008.

Since joining PSG in 2021, he has added three more trophies to his collection – two Ligue 1 titles and a Trophee des Champions.

Furthermore, he won the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina and the Leagues Cup 2023 with Inter Miami.
