Sunday Amos, an anti-corruption campaigner, has reacted after Senator Ali Ndume was removed as Chief Whip of the Senate. Ndume lost his position after he openly criticized President Tinubu’s administration despite being a member of the APC
In an interview with Daily Trust TV, Amos stated that President Tinubu and other APC members in the Senate were not happy with Ndume’s comments. He said as a member of the party, Ndume was expected to support the party’s decisions and not reveal internal issues to the public.
In Amos words: “You can’t come out as a senator and be criticizing Tinubu’s government as a member of the APC and you expect Tinubu to keep quiet. We are seeing a situation whereby the executive is not comfortable with the utterances of Ndume who is a member of the party. And being a member of the party, he is supposed to be observing good table manners: just be eating and be keeping quiet, and you are coming out to be exposing the things that are happening inside. There is no how the executive or the legislature can be comfortable”.
