According to The Nation, A 32-year-old student, Bisola Olisa, shared a harrowing account of her recent escape from abduction in a chilling incident that unfolded between Akungba and Ekiti State. Hailing from Imero in Ose Local Government of Ondo State, Olisa recounted being one of seven individuals forcibly taken by unknown assailants. The journey took a tragic turn when a fellow passenger seated next to her was fatally shot during the abduction.

Speaking at the parade of 24 suspects apprehended by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, Olisa described the terrifying ordeal she endured. According to her, the abductors initially outnumbered them on the road, but the situation escalated as they were led into the wilderness by four armed individuals. Forced to trek through the night, the group eventually found themselves resting at the base of a mountain by the following morning.

Olisa’s testimony underscores the pervasive danger posed by criminal activities in the region, highlighting the vulnerability faced by ordinary citizens traveling along major routes. Her escape represents a rare instance of survival amidst a rising trend of kidnapping incidents reported across southwestern Nigeria.
