US goods trade balance for June -$96.8 billion versus $-98.8 billion estimate

  • Prior month $-98.4 billion revised to $-99.37 billion
  • Trade deficit for June $-96.8 billion versus expectations of $-98.8 billion

This is just the deficit for goods. The US always runs a negative goods trade balance with the rest of the world due to the large inflow of imported goods. In contrast the US runs a service surplus with the world.
