Nigerian couple, Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube have emerged as the winner of the eleventh edition of British reality TV dating show, Love Island.

The duo in the process made history as the first-ever black couple to win the show. They defeated Welsh couple Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, who finished as runners-up.

Fellow islanders Matilda Draper and Sean Stone came third on the show, while another Nigerian couple Ayo Odukoya and Jessica Spencer placed fourth.

Announcing the results on Monday, host Maya Jama explained that the couple received the highest percentage of the public vote.

The couple took home £50,000 cash prize for winning the show.

Josh, a 29-year-old Nigerian-British footballer and model, and Mimii, a 24-year-old mental health nurse and actress spoke about their future plans after the show.

Josh expressed excitement about spending more time with Mimii away from the cameras and meeting her family and friends.
