Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has sadly confirmed the passing of his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, at the remarkable age of 120. Known for her selfless community work, the centenarian breathed her last on January 1, 2025.

In a statement released by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, her funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held at 4:00 pm at Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi.

“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and bestow strength upon her family to bear this profound loss,” the governor said.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his deepest sympathies to the Duguri family and all those who had the privilege to know Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri.

He called on everyone to join him in prayers for her peaceful rest and to honor the legacy she leaves behind.

“Her passing marks the end of an era defined by selflessness, piety, and unwavering dedication to community service, which she exemplified throughout her long and impactful life,” the statement read.
