Award-winning Nigerian vocalist Temilade Openiyi, more commonly recognized as Tems, has utilized social media platforms to articulate her sentiments following her receipt of the Best African Music Performance accolade at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The 67th iteration of the Grammy Awards convened on Sunday, January 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena located in Los Angeles, California, notwithstanding the recent wildfires that have devastated sections of the metropolis.

She attained this prestigious award with her track “Love Me JeJe,” outpacing contenders such as “Tomorrow” by Yemi Alade, “MMS” by Asake featuring Wizkid, “Sensational” by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and “Higher” by Burna Boy.

This achievement signifies her second triumph at the Grammy Awards. The inaugural award in 2024 was secured by South Africa’s Tyla for her acclaimed single “Water.”

Tems garnered three nominations at this year’s Grammy ceremony, elevating her cumulative total to eight nominations throughout her career. She was also recognized in the categories of Best Global Music Album for “Born in the Wild” and Best R&B Song for “Burning.”

In a display of exuberance, Tems took to her verified accounts on Instagram and Twitter, inundating these platforms with new images of herself. She was also photographed alongside her mother and her collaborative team.
