Hummels on his future: “My body and family will decide.”

Roma defender Mats Hummels remained cryptic when asked about his intentions for the near future.

The German veteran’s contract with the Giallorossi is set to expire in June and so far there has been no signs of a new deal in sight.

In an interview with RTL.de, Hummels commented, “My future won’t be decided in the next few weeks.”

“In recent years I’ve managed it in such a way as to listen to my body, also my family, and my son,” he said.

“I miss spending time with him the most,” he added.

“That’s why my future will only be decided in the summer. My son has a say in the matter. A lot of responsibility for a seven-year-old. But I think we’ll find a way to be happy.”

“Life in Rome? I had a hard time settling in at first. It’s a huge city with an incredible history. It took me a while to get used to the Roman traffic, I was really stressed for a few months. In the meantime, I’ve been told that I already drive like a Roman.”
