Scalise: If Mexico and Canada help us on fentanyl “those tariffs will probably go away”

Republican House majority leader spoke on CNBC and said if Mexico and Canada help us on fentanyl “those tariffs will probably go away”.

That’s a hint that Trump (or at least Congress) don’t see the tariffs lasting long. He also spoke about reciprocal tariffs going on other countries, which is notable because Canada and Mexico have very few tariffs on US goods.

Critically, Trump Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is scheduled to speak on CNBC at 8:40 am ET.
