Germany January trade balance €16.0 billion vs €20.6 billion expected

The German trade surplus narrowed in January as exports fell by 2.5% while imports were seen up by 1.2% on the month. As a reminder, the number to watch out for as a whole this year will be €241.2 billion – which was the total trade surplus scored in 2024.
