Spanish striker Alvaro Morata responded to the recent rumors that linked him with a return to Serie A.
Following tonight’s 1-0 victory over Italy, Morata – who acted as Spain’s captain – was asked about his future.
Among other things, the ex-Juve man was asked about the possibility of seeing him in Italy’s top flight in light of the recent links with Roma.
At full-time in Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Morata spoke to Sky Sport.
“The important thing was to win, Donnarumma is one of the best in the world and he made 2/4 saves of the highest level tonight. He has some incredible qualities.”
“I feel good, there’s a nice group and a nice atmosphere in the locker room. We have more opportunities with new guys who look like they’re thirty, only when I see them joking do I understand how old they are.”
“We are a complete team, very united. In the end, Italy is always Italy: I can’t say anything about them. They have great players.”
“Will I return to Italy? I don’t know, I always go there on holiday,” he said.
