An engine cover fell off a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 and hit wing during take off

An engine cowling fell off a Boeing 737-800 during take-off.

  • The cowling struck a wing flap,
  • This was on a flight in Denver.
  • The plane was forced to return to the airport with no reported injuries.

The US Federal Aviation Administration said it would investigate the incident.
