Australian consumer confidence, weekly survey, jumped in the first week of 2025

ANZ remarks on the result:

  • ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence jumped 3.6pts in the first week of 2025, reaching a top-three result since the start of 2023.
  • We expect more upward momentum this year as tax cuts, rising real wages and rate cuts support households.

87.5 is still very pessimistic (100 is the neutral level).
