Besiktas ask Rick Karsdorp to take pay cut in order to facilitate transfer

Turkish giants Besiktas are after out-of-favor Roma fullback Rick Karsdorp.

Over recent days Besiktas opened talks with Karsdorp’s camp and hope to reach an agreement in the coming hours.

The Dutchman was excluded from Roma’s preseason training and instructed to find himself a new team before the end of the summer.

After rejecting offers from Greece and Turkey, Karsdorp seems to have settled on Besiktas’ latest approach.

However, the deal is still not in its final stages, contrary to what Turkish news media reported on yesterday.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Dutch full-back is asking for the same salary he receives in the capital (around 3 million euros).

The deal can only be closed if Karsdorp lowers his demands or if Besiktas spreads the salary over several years.
