Bitfinex to List NYM Token

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 8th, October 2024 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com), a leading digital asset trading platform, announces the listing of NYM (mainnet), the native token of Nym technologies. Nym claims to be a ‘Noise Generating Mixnet’ (NGM) infrastructure that secures the privacy and integrity of all online traffic, protecting against traffic pattern analysis and metadata surveillance. The NGM is designed to integrate with any app or chain. The Swiss-based company behind the NGM is launching NymVPN, a full-stack consumer facing app to access the network later this year.

The NYM token plays a vital role in the Nym mixnet and Appchain. It grants users access to the network, enables the payment of transaction fees, and supports the system’s privacy infrastructure. The use of the mixnet, NYM claims, is that it can route network traffic in a way that makes it untraceable, even for global internet monitoring systems.

The NYM token is available on two blockchain standards: ERC-20 as well as the native NYM on the Cosmos chain, which allows users to delegate tokens and engage with the Nym ecosystem. Bitfinex will list the NYM mainnet token on Cosmos, and will also provide a facility for any customer who wishes to deposit the ERC-20 token, allowing individuals to convert it to the mainnet token to trade, using the Bitfinex currency conversion tool.

NYM deposits will be opened at approximately 12:00 PM UTC on 8 October, 2024, subject to network conditions. Trading is planned to commence at approximately 10:00 AM on 10 October, 2024, contingent upon liquidity requirements being met. NYM will be tradable against US Dollars (NYM/USD) and Tether tokens (NYM/USDt).
