Bayer Leverkusen made history by winning 5-0 against Bochum, extending their unbeaten streak to 50 matches.
Bochum’s chances of picking up a point to secure their status in the top division were dashed early on.
Felix Passlack was sent off in the 15th minute for a foul on Nathan Tella, leaving the team with 10 men.
Leverkusen capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Patrik Schick opening the goal with a well-placed strike from Arthur’s cross.
Victor Boniface doubled Leverkusen’s lead from the penalty spot after Tella was brought down in the box.
Despite being a man down, Bochum tried to score, with Kevin Stöger and Robert Andrich coming close.
However, Leverkusen continued a relentless run, adding Amine Adli to the scoresheet.
Josip Stanisic and Alex Grimaldo completed the party, helping Xabi Alonso’s side to keep their incredible run of form this season.
