BREAKING: Imo Traditional Ruler, Others Rescued As Security Operatives Raid IPOB Camp

The Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies in Imo State have raided a notorious ESN/IPOB camp in Ezioha forest in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

During the operation, several kidnap victims including a 69-year-old traditional ruler of Umuorji Mgbidi community in Oru west Local government were rescued by the security operatives.

Henry Okoye, the Command Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

He said the kidnap kingpin whose group has been terrorising the state in recent times was also neutralised.

According to Okoye, on arrival at the terrorist camp, the security operatives were engaged in a heavy gun battle and in the process the Gang leader was naturalized while others took off with bullet wounds.

Okoye added that a couple and several other kidnap victims were rescued. Items recovered include different vehicles, one pump action gun, 10 live cartridges, four locally made explosives, one Biafra flag, native bullet proof amongst others.
