China’s suspension of 5 Australian meat processing plants has been lifted

more to come

China has lifted bans on beef shipments from five major Australian meat producers.

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt confirmed the suspensions were lifted by Chinese authorities overnight with immediate effect

The background to this is that China banned beef imports from a total of eight Australian abattoirs amid a diplomatic fallout between 2020 and 2021. This stopped an estimated 35 per cent of the country’s beef exports into China.
