Despite previous denials Marcus Rashford takes emergency action to force through transfer

Despite previous denials Marcus Rashford takes emergency action to force through transfer

It seems almost certain that Marcus Rashford will leave Man United this month, and now the player has apparently taken emergency action to ensure that’s the case.

Barcelona have agreed personal terms with Rashford, though it’s understood that the Catalan club are still struggling to be able to afford the loan fee for the player.

It’s also reported that Rashford is willing to lower his wages significantly in order to help facilitate the move to the Spanish league giants.

Marcus Rashford has employed new agents to push through January move

With a few days left of the window a deal still hasn’t fully been agreed, though it appears the 27-year-old forward has now taken matters into his own hands.

According to the Daily Star, Rashford has hired the brother of Brighton forward, Danny Welbeck, as his new agent to help him find a move away from Old Trafford.

Rashford’s own brother, Dwaine Maynard, had previously been noted as his agent (The Athletic, subscription required), and it isn’t clear if this new arrangement is with the permission of Maynard or in place of him.

“I’ll NEVER say sorry!” – which ex-Arsenal star says he was “really p***ed off” with how he was treated before leaving?

Earlier in the month BBC Sport reported that Rashford had denied he had met representatives of another agency to help smooth his path out of Old Trafford, but it seems he has done a complete 360 on his position.

Desperate times for Marcus Rashford

Given that he clearly has no future under Ruben Amorim, the last few days of the January transfer window are now very definitely a case of desperate times calling for desperate measures.

It’s in everyone’s best interests to ensure a deal is agreed upon, and within a few days Rashford’s immediate future will be known.

Either a six-month loan elsewhere or the same period spent in the wilderness at his current employers.
