Fitch estimates for economic losses related to California fires range from $150B to $275B

Fitch is out saying:

  • Sgnificantly wide estimates for insured losses related to California fires with a range between $10 billion and $30 billion
  • Estimates for total economic losses related to California fires range between $150 billion-$275 billion

With disasters, there is the dip in economic activity and then the recovery from the rebuild over time. However, no mistake about it this is a huge number and it is still ongoing.
