Footballing Birthdays – 23rd January

Arjen Robben is 41 today. The former Dutch international won 96 caps and scored 37 goals between 2003 and 2017. He won 27 major honours during his career.
Robben started and ended his career at Groningen and also played for PSV, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Former Manchester United and Everton winger Andrei Kanchelskis is 56 today. He played for three different countries following the break-up of the Soviet Union. The first was Soviet Union, CIS and Russia.
Kanchelskis started his career in Ukraine before Alex Ferguson brought him to England in 1991. He spent four years at United, winning seven major honours.
He moved to Everton in the summer of 1995 before moving to Fiorentina in 1997 and then Glasgow Rangers. After short spells at Southampton and in Saudi Arabia, Kanchelskis ended his career in Russia.

Welsh defender Joe Ledley celebrates his 38th birthday today. Ledley played in the English leagues for Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Derby County, Charlton Athletic and Newport County. He also played in Scotland for Celtic and spent a short time in Australia playing for Newcastle Jets.
Ledley played in all of Wales’s games at Euro 2016, their first tournament in 58 years.

Ruben Loftus Cheek is 29 today. The AC Milan midfielder started his career at Chelsea, where he spent time on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham.
AC Milan came in and signed him in the summer of 2023 and he has made 60 appearances for the club in that time. Loftus-Cheek had won 10 caps for England during his career.
