Former Roma and current Genoa midfielder Kevin Strootman addressed his club future ahead of Sunday’s league meeting against his former side.
The Dutchman, who spent five years with the Giallorossi, revealed he’ll leave il Grifone at the end of the season after the club informed him they don’t intend to renew his contract when it expires in June.
“(Alberto) Gilardino informed me two days ago that my contract won’t be renewed,” Strootman told RadioTV Serie A.
“As a result, my journey with Genoa is coming to an end. Nonetheless, myself and the entire squad want to finish the season properly in front of our supporters.”
Adding, “As for Sunday, playing at the Olimpico will be special for me. If the Mister selects me, I’ll certainly enjoy myself.”
