Germany March retail sales +1.8% vs +1.3% m/m expected

  • Prior -1.9%; revised to -1.7%

That’s a decent beat on retail sales but it follows from the rather poor readings in both January and February to begin with. Food sales were the key driver, rising by 3.6% on the month in real terms. Meanwhile, non-food retail sales were seen down 0.2% on the month
