Japan PM Kishida: Will call for wage hikes exceeding last year for small, mid-sized firms

He says that he will call for that during his meeting with labour unions and the firms’ management. He also says that “Japan has not yet emerged out of deflation” and that is nudging the yen currency a little lower.

USD/JPY now up to session highs of 147.74 on the day.
