Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun appointed as new Chief Justice of Nigeria

Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun has been formally chosen as Nigeria’s new Chief Justice, succeeding the retiring Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

As the second-most senior justice on the Supreme Court, Justice Kekere-Ekun becomes the second woman in Nigerian history to hold this distinguished post.

She follows in the footsteps of Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar, who served as CJN from 2012 to 2014.
