Paul Pogba could be on his way out of Juventus at the end of his current anti-doping ban which has been reduced from 4 years to 18 months.
Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Frenchman could be on his way out of Turin as the Old Lady are no longer interested in the midfielder.
Recall that the 30-year-old, who was handed an initial four-year suspension following a failed doping test in 2023, successfully appealed to have his ban reduced to 18 months, meaning he could make a comeback later this season ( March 2025). However, with this latest development, Pogba would have to start looking for another club that he would join as a free agent.
Why does Juventus want to terminate Paul Pogba’s contract?
The midfielder currently earns £10 million per season, it is reportedly said that the board at Juventus are not ready to continue paying that fee as he would be one of the highest-paid players at the club when he returns from his ban.
What did Pogba say about the ban reduction?
“Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again. I always stated that I never knowingly breached Anti-Doping regulations, I play with integrity and I want to thank the Court of Arbitration who heard my explanation. This has been a hugely distressing pediod in my life because everything I’ve worked so hard has been put on hold. Thank you for all the love and support. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch.”
This decision will be a good move for both parties, Juventus would be a huge reduction in their wage structure and also good for Pogba as he could revitalise his career at another club.
