Mile Svilar is ready to become Roma’s new long-term starting goal-keeper.
Following his unexpected ascent under the leadership of Daniele De Rossi, Svilar stunned not only fans, but Roma’s management as well.
After all, the Serbian shot-stopper had been marginalized in favor of a declining Rui Patricio during the majority of Jose Mourinho’s tenure.
Mourinho’s dismissal resulted in Patricio being benched and Svilar finding a regular spot in Roma’s starting formation.
Upon the conclusion to an excellent season, Svilar is set to be rewarded by the club with a new contract.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Svilar will meet with Roma’s new technical director, Florent Ghisolfi, to sign a new contract with the Giallorossi.
The player currently earns 700,000 euros which is bound to drastically increase in a new deal that would see him extend his stay in the capital for one additional year.
Ghisolfi is expected to land in the Italian capital in the next days and shortly thereafter he will meet with Svilar and his entourage to formalize the new contract.
