Modric Shines as Croatia Edges Portugal 2-1

Croatia’s night began with a bang, thanks to a sleek penalty by the legendary Luka Modric. Despite Portugal dominating possession, they couldn’t quite crack Croatia’s tough defense. Then, like a bolt from the blue, Diogo Jota leveled the score early in the second half, revving up the home crowd’s hopes.

But Croatia wasn’t done. Ante Budimir delivered a decisive blow, putting Croatia back in the lead. The game ended with Portugal scrambling to find an equalizer, but Croatia held firm, showing off their breakaway speed and sturdy tactics.

What’s buzzing? Well, Portugal’s coach, Roberto Martinez, decided to leave Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench the whole game. It sure sparked some whispers about Ronaldo’s role in the upcoming Euros. On the flip side, Josko Gvardiol was a sight to behold, snuffing out Portugal’s attacks and speeding down the flanks.
