Nasdaq closes on the the lows of the day as chipmakers weigh

The highs for the day in the Nasdaq today came moments after the open. It was steady trading but mostly lower from there until the final 40 minutes of trading when the bottom fell out.
The index closed down 0.4%, and at the lowest since Thursday and the third straight day of declines.
The drop could indicate rebalancing flows into quarter end.
