New Zealand data – Manufacturing sales volumes +1.1% q/q

New Zealand manufacturing sales rise in fourth quarter:

  • manufacturing sales volumes +1.1% q/q
  • volumes for dairy and meat products, the country’s biggest export earners, +3.1%
  • Sales rose q/q in 12 of the 14 higher-level industries measured in the business financial data

Says Stats NZ:

  • “The decrease in sales for electricity, gas, water, and waste services was driven by wholesale electricity prices dropping back down after a peak in the previous quarter,”

New Zealand’s manufacturing sales data provides a quarterly snapshot of revenue generated by the country’s manufacturing sector, used as an indicator to industrial activity and economic momentum in the country.
